Snowing Sunday in Bel Air

Snow in Los Angeles? Yes I saw the snow falling from the sky and two reindeers in Bel Air today. I was commissioned to shoot Daily's 10th Birthday party.

This family of six really put their love together to help Daily celebrate her birthday with her friends; Dad was helping with pop corn machine & snow cone maker, mom made sure there was enough snow in their backyard, older brother baked cake and two little ones helped to make sure everything went smoothly. Here is one of my favorite image.

Happy Thanksgiving !

After we bought out first house three years ago, we started our own tradition of having my side of family over for Thanksgiving lunch at our place because Andy's family have their traditional Turkey Dinner every year. It's busiest time of the year for me, but I had a great time cooking for my family this year. I am not a big fan of turkey meat and so are my family, but what's Thanksgiving without roasted turkey so I decided to make turkey this year. I used french reciepe for my turkey this year. My lemon cheese cake with lemon curd was big hit. I am so proud of myself for making my first cheesecake so perfect. I enjoy cooking, but I am not experieced baker because I really don't like sweets. Here are some photos of my non-traditional thanksgiving meal. Bear with me for not so professional photos. I was busy cooking!

Sunday in Pacific Palisades

I normally don't set up any session on Sunday, but this time of year. I try to do best I can to accomdate my clients' to help them create their lovely holiday cards. As you know, we have been having London weather in Los Angeles for a while. So I was worried when I saw the weather forcast for Sunday. But sky lighten up with gorgeous glow by the time we were ready to shoot. Sarah & Jenna are two very sweet and goreous girls. They are both so well-mannered and polite. Andy and I could not stop talking about these girls on our way home. Emily, the oldest sister is studying in Paris so we decided to do separate shots of girls for this year's holiday card. Emily will be e-mailing me of her portrait shot by her boyfriend in Paris. I think the weather worked out well so we can match California weather to Paris. Can't wait to see their holiday card put together!

Lola Fair & Baby J.

I am in my busiest season of the year where I stay up until 3 am editing and out to work again in the morning. I don't know when is last time I did anything for myself, but I had a very refreshing experience last Sunday. I got to see Lola Fair & Baby J. perform live at HANACC. What a talent!

I have known Baby J. for a while now and every time I hear her sing, I am just in awe.
As you can see she is a very beautiful and talented young lady. She is very humble and kind. She definitely breaks your perception of a "pretty girl" who wants everything her way. She isn't materialistic and I don't sometimes even think that she wants fame & money. She is so real. She just wants to be able to do what she loves! I truly hope that her dreams come true. If you are a talent agent out there and looking for a real thing, here is your chance!

Christmas in October

I have been photographing these cute girls since their christening. Marley is now 3 1/2 years old and Giulia is 1 1/2 years old. I love photographing children and I count this as one of the greatest blessings in life, watching these children grow and being part of commemorating their life with my images.
I've got much needed cardio photographing these girls.
I love their cute red dress that Marely picked out. Can't you already tell that she has a great taste for fashion? It's simply beautiful and looks comfortable!

I met Season in 2004 as she was helping her sister Courtney's wedding.
So I was thrilled to get an e-mail from Season.
Let me tell you little more about this extraordinary family.
I meet many families through my job, but this family is just so much fun and loving.
Both mother's helped with the decoration & set up.
I love talking to parents of bride and groom to be. They usually tell me lovely stories about their children. I felt so loved and cared at this party!! These mothers made sure that I was fed and Corky even gave me a bottle of her homemade drink for me to take home.
I saw Season's dad in the kitchen right before the party cutting bread for everyone.
Mike arrived with their four well dressed children all by himself. (Courtney had to come early to help) Can I say that men in this family Rock!

Season's friend who is a great event coordinator sent the crew to help.

Thank you for your kind understanding. I've had total 6hours of sleep this weekend and worked 24 hours so far! now I am off to shoot more~~~

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.0

Today... I did it!!! I did it!!!
I opened my red coach wallet then took my VISA card out
and bought Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.0!
I just download it off the web because they are offering promotional price of $199 until April 30,2007. Yes, you stil have few more days. You better hurry.
I've never thoght that I will get so excited over a new software! But this is really cool program just like Photoshop. I am in love with my PhotoshopCS2 and Lightroom definitely helps me to save my time infront of the computer. I love working on photoshop and I am very comfortable with it, but I only have limited hours each day so I'd rather take some more photos than to sit infront of the computer all day long. Plus, I prefer not to apply too much Photoshop effect to my images, so Lightroom is perfect for me.

Normally, I would hesitate to buy first generation product,but I already know that this is a great product and I have some sentimental value with this first generation Lightroom.

Last year, I was chosen to participate in Colin Finlay's workshop that I adobe sponsered. In addtion to spending whole day with Colin Finlay. I also met Julianne Kost for the first time in Person! She is so patient and awesome, she stayed extra hours editing our work and going over key features of Ligthroom. I probably don't need to tell you that she is the goddes of Photoshop.
Jennifer Stern,Senior Product Marketing Manager at Adobe is also such a sweet and down to earth person who fits so into her position and to this project that adobe is sponsering with emerging photographers. I am so glad that I got to know her little bit in person as well.

My friends ask me all the time whether I am still in school. My answer is that I will always be in school. People may say that I am afraid of the real world. That's not true at all. I make time to attend classes and workshops because I want to stay inspire. I can't wait to share more of my personal work with you all!

The Riviera Country Club

Here we are already at the end of April, but it's still pretty cold here in Southern Califonia.(Sorry for complaining to folks in colder region) Can't wait for Summer to Arrive!

Hello All,

Welcome to my humble blog everyone!

I am still in the process of branding my photography business and creating this blog was part of it. Please don't get bored just yet!
Yes, this is one of my marketing elements just like many other professionals that work in this field. However my intention is to use this blog to share bit of my life with all of you so you can learn little more about me before you decide to hire me.
I am a people photographer... in orde to be good people photographer, I need to connect with my subject. So please be my friend through this blog.

I have been managing my personal blog elsewhere, but I've decide to combine both business and personal on this blog. That's why you won't find any previous posts, but I promise you I will TRY my best to fill this blog up with interesting posts soon!

Now,I am not much of a socialite. My life is pretty simple (can be boring at times), but I hope you enjoy visiting my bog as often as you can.
As a first attempt to keep my promise, I think I am going to go out and buy my first "Point and Shoot" digital camera that I can carrie it in my purse all the time. Point and shoot cameras have some limitations, but I have to say they take great picture nowdays!
